Brady sues assailant
NZPA-Reuter Washington The American Presidential press secretary (Mr James Brady) has filed a SUS 46 million civil damage suit against John Hinckley for injuries suffered when he was wounded witn President Ronald Reagan and two others on March 30 last year. Brady, who was shot in the head and suffered the most critical wounds of the four victims, said in .the suit that he had suffered “severe and
permanent injuries.’’ He had also lost time from his job and suffered an impairment of his earning. Brady’s was the second suit filed against Hinckley, who has admitted the shootings but has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.. On February 19 a Washington policeman, Thomas Delahanty, and his wife, Jean, filed a SUS3I million damage suit against Hinckley. Mr Delahanty also was injured in the accident.
