ANZ Bank
The ANZ Bank will hold its first South Island board meeting in Christchurch today. The chairman of the board (Mr. L. M. Papps) said yesterday that the decision to hold the meeting in Christchurch “reflects the national identity of the bank.” He regarded the Christchurch meeting as particularly important because it recognised the bank’s involvement with Canterbury for more than 130 years. Board members will also visit several branches of the bank in Christchurch.
