Country selector
The former Canterbury and Country loose forward, Geoff Henderson, will be the Country rugby selector-coach ■this year. . Mr Henderson was elected to the position, left vacant by the appointment of Alex Wyllie as Canterbury selector, He defeated three other North. Canterbury candidates, John Cruickshank, Tom McLay and. Peter Sheehan. Brian Peter’s nomination was withdrawn, although he is likely to be Mr Henderson’s co-opted coaching partner. Mr Sheehan was successful in the ballot for Country colts selector. His only rival was Max Duncan, of Sheffield. Mr Henderson’s first task will be picking a team for an early season game against Otago Sub-unions. .
