A courier was taken to; Middleniore Hospital on I Thursday after being jumped! from behind and attacked by] an assailant in the main I street of Otahuhu about] noon The courier for Pacific! Steel, Ltd, Mr Jack Orchard,! a former policeman, had just banked some of his firm’s money when he was attacked in front, of horrified shoppers. His assailant beat him on

The bag was picked up by the attacker, who was ■ chased by several bystanders Jdown a side road. During the short chase the .(assailant threw the bag at ihis pursuers. He finally sped ioff in a blue-and-white Holden car. 1 The police are looking for a young Maori in his early I 20s and a long goatee beard and of slim to medium build.
