SHAFT-DRIVE SUZUKI
The latest addition to Suzuki’s growing list of multi-cylinder, four-stroke roadsters is the GSBSOG, the first Suzuki to employ a shaft as its final drive. Hie shaft is cunningly concealed in one leg of the swinging arm. A gear-shock damper is a standard fitting and there is also a rear hub damper mounted on the rear wheel casting. The new Suzuki is powered by a fciir-eylin'er
double overhead camshaft engine of 843 cu. cm. It develops 57.5 kw (77 b.h.p.) at 8500 r.p.m. The gearbox has five speeds. The dry weight is 253 kg (5581 b Maximum speed is claimed to be 210km/h (130 mp.h.). The machine is essentially a touring bike, very smooth, with a comfortable seating position, and good handling. Braking is through hydraulic discs front and rear.
The exhaust system is of the four-into-two variety.
