High rainfall and warm [ soil temperatures in March produced good [ grass and pasture growth, according to a •I meteorological report from | Lincoln College. •I While almost five times the amount of rain ■ (132.9 mm fell, compared with March last year, sunshine hours slumped. There were only 67 hours , of sunshine, about 132 hours less than March, I 1978. ; Persistent cloud in March caused low mean , daytime temperatures and ■’ reduced cooling at night. - No frost was recorded.
