Chch groups to get Todd grants
Christchurch organisations received $6lOO, and national organisations based in Christchurch $ll5O, in the Todd Foundation grants for 1979, of a total of $85,000. Total grants made by the foundation and the Todd Charitable Trust to charitable, medical, educational, cultural, and social welfare organisations new exceed $BOO,OOO. Among the recipients were the New Zealand Paraplegic and Physically Disabled Foundation, which received $500; the New Zealand Kidney Dialysis and Transplant Society, which was given $350; and the New Zealand Student Arts Council, which received $3OO.
Grants made to Christchurch and district organisations were: Christchurch Arts Festival ($500); Christchurch Symphony Orchestra ($500); Christchurch Schooi of Instrumental Music ($250); Awamoa Flower Circle ($2501; Sumner Society for Deaf Children ($500); Christchurch Combined Churches Hospital ($250): Mary Potter Geriatric Hospital ($500); 6A ($350); Society for tlie Protection of the Home and Family (Christchurch branch) ($250); Cholmondeley Children’s Home (ssooi; Christchurch Children’s Home Appeal fs7so); South Island Methodist Children’s Home Board ($500); University of Canterbury Chaplaincy Committee ($250); Canterbury Workers* Educational Association ($250); Book Discussions Scheme of W.E.A, ($250); Christchurch Children’s Holiday Camps Trust ($250). The Greymouth Civic Trust ($150); the Picton Historical Society ($250); the Coal Town Trust, Westport ($250); and the Lake Kaniere Lodge Trust, Hokitika ($250) were among other organisations which received grants from the Todd
