Special Correspondent Wingatui Bold Mellay ran a sound ' trail at Wingatui yesterday morning in preparation for the Kingston Handicap, first leg of the T.A.B. double there tomorrow. Work was wide out on the 1 course proper, which was easy after overnight rain. Bold Mellay was travelling ■ well outside Bits n’ Pieces at ' the finish of 1000 m run in Imin 5.65, the last 800 in ; 52.7 s and 600 in 39.25. Bits ’ n’ Pieces wore blinkers. I Selector sprinted from the • 600 m in 39.65. Special : Keeper and Bit of Fun re- • corded 52.9 s for 800 m. Char- ■ lar and Master Mellay came ’ from the 100 m in Imin 6.55, :the last 800 m 53.35.
