Sixteen villagers cling to this small outboard as it leaves Lautoka for an island community nine kilometres away, a journey which will take them more than an hour. The Cessna floatplane of Turtle Island Airways can cover the same distance in three minutes—but it cannot carry 16 passengers at a time.
