Fiji’s racing frogs
The highlights of my visit to Fiji were the frog races at Man Friday Resort and a trip on the Seaspray to Plantation Island. The frogs have pieces of numbered paper attached and the bets are 50c. It was fun watching the frogs hopping to the line and cheering them on. There was also a special event for hermit crabs. The entertainment of music and singing at night yvas also very enjoyable.
The other highlight of my I Fijian holiday was the trip on the Seaspray. Once the boat was under way the crew brought out their guitars and entertained us with songs and music. I admire and envy the friendly “time doesn’t matter” way of life of the i Fijians. —MISS N. M. LEASK, 177 Opawa Rd, Christchurch. |
