Club seeks meeting
The Hornby Club will ask the union and the referees’ association to meet with club officials, who are concerned at having two players ordered off in such a short time. “The players are quite upset that Hornby is getting a bad name as a dirty
side. We are no dirtier than any other team in Canterbury,” Mr Ridden said. “The fighting has to be taken out of rugby, but at present there seems to be differences in referees’ rulings. The sooner the ‘sin-bin’ is introduced the better it will be,” he said.
