Registrations up in New Zealand
PA Wellington A total of 684 new companies, including five overseas companies, were registered throughout New Zealand during March 1979, the Justice Department reports. For March 1978 the figures were 431 and five respectively. Receivers were appointed to 17 companies while five ceased to act in March this year; for March 1978 the figures were 35 and 21 respectively. In March 1979 31 companies were the subject of court orders to wind up, and 33 companies went into voluntary ' liquidation; for March 1978 the figures were 39 and 56 respectively. A total of 438 companies, including nil overseas companies, were dissolved either by liquidation being completed or being struck from the register; for March 1978 the figure was 185, which included two Overseas companies.
The nominal share capital of 201 companies was increased during March 1979, in March 1978 there were 136 increases. The nominal share capital of nil companies was decreased during March 1979, while March 1978 saw one decrease.
As at March 31, 1979, the total number cf comoanies on the register was 109,759, which included 668 overseas companies: at. Marcn 31, 1978 the figure was 109,632, which included 655 overseas companies.
