Restrictions on Pal Cummings

NZPA Sydney Pat Cummings, brother of suspended trainer, Bart Cummings, has been banned by the Australian Jockey Club from attending trackwork sessions at Randwick. And restrictions have been placed on Bart’s son, Anthony, who previously acted as his father’s Sydney foreman. Mr J. Carr, chairman of the A.J.C. said, “we believe Pat Cummings has been taking part in activities at the stable. He was told not to go to the track.” Pat Cummings has always been a right hand man to Bart, who was suspended for three months by Victorian Racing Club stewards over a positive urine sample taken from one of his horses, Lloyd Boy.

The A.J.C. has allowed Mai Barnes to be a “replacement trainer” for Cummings and he has been assisted by Pat and Bart’s son, Anthony. Neither had any complaint yesterday about the A.J.C.’s decision.
