There is also a new laboratory fully equipped for all aspects of immunofluorescence and histochemistry. There is an active Department of Nephrology within the hospital with a large maintenance dialysis and renal transplant programme. This department has a particular clinical and experimental interest in glomerulonephritis. The successful applicant will be required to participate in the routine surgical pathology and the teaching and research activities of the department, and will also be encouraged to participate in all aspects of the Department of Nephrology, and will be personally responsible for the interpretation of all renal biopsies, currently numbering approximately 120 per annum. Salary will be according to qualifications and experience. Currently the basic salary for a Specialist Pathologist ranges from sAust2s,94o to sAust3s,3lB per annum, plus 10 per cent On Call allowance.
