University Vacancies THE PAPUA NEW GUINEA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY Department of Chemical Technology APPLICATIONS ARE invited for the position:— TECHNICAL OFFICER The Department conducts degree courses m food technology and mineral technology and ser " vice courses in chemistry and biology. It is expected that the appointee will have a .background appropriate to one or more of these areas. The Technical Officer’s duties will relate to the preparation of student practical work and tne installation and servicing Of equipment. At tnis stage of the Department's development it is expected that installation of new equipment, particularly in the food processing area, will be an tmportant part of the job and applicants should possess practical skills in this area. A boiler attendant’s certificate would be an advantage. Training of national staff will be an important component of the job The successful candidate will be offered a three years contract. Salary: KBOOO - KI 1.450 per annum. Other benefits include a gratuity equal to 24 per cent total salary payable either on completion of the contract period or by five instalments curing a three year contract, salary indexation, appointment and repatriation fares for the staff member and his familv.
