The equity stake in Overmyer, an American company specialising in the manufacture and supply of mould equipment to the major glass makers around the world, is expected to cost A.C.I. more than sAust3M. A.C.I. is also teaming up with Overmyer to form a joint-venture company in Singapore to produce and supply mould equipment for the glass container and glass pressware markets in SouthEast Asia, the Far East, and the Pacific.
A.C.I. expects it to be final- ; ised next month. A.C.I. is already well : established in Singapore through its 51.7 per centowned Singapore Glass Manufacturers Proprietary Ltd. and its Pak Pacific (South-East Asia) Products, Ltd, subsidiary. The group works in New Zealand through the 60 per cent-owned Alex Harvey Industries. Ltd, in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Fiji and Papua-New Guinea.
