Exports to Singapore booming
NZPA Hong Kong New Zealand’s exports to Singapore, which. rose 40 per cent last year, are growing most rapidly in non-traditional fields.
A newsletter from the New Zealand High Commission in Singapore says that sales of manufactured foodstuffs to the island State have risen 90 per cent in the last year to fetch $NZ713,973. Fish, dyes, colouring agents,' plastic and rubber products, timber, paper, metal ware, and machinery sales have also shown spectacular growth, says the commission. It says that a Singapore buyer is looking to New Zealand as a source of dried flowers. The reason the buyer prefers the New Zealand product is that the petals of the New Zealand flowers are less prone to drop off than
those from other countries.
