Lord Module to race tonight
NZPA Sydney The New Zealand pacer Lord Module will clash with Koala King and tJie laststart winner, Lehigh Lad, in the fourth qualifying division of the Lord Mayor’s Cup at Harold Park tonight. rhe second series of heats will be run over 2350 m and under handicap conditions and Lord Module will receive 15m from the expected favourite, Koala King. But the New Zealand stal lion is erratic from a stand ing start, and could be giving Koala King more than (hat after the field has travelled 200 m. Koala King will also con ccxie 15m to Lehigh Lad, which beat him lasi week. But there were some excuses for Koala King, as for the final 200 m of last week’s race his sulky had a flat tyre, and under the circumstances his effort to get within four metres of Lehigh Lad was very good. The second of the cup heats sees the Scotsman struggling to gain a place in next week’s final. Last Friday night the Scotsman finished eighth to Remember Joy but that was not his true form and tonight with a place in the final on the line he should show the form which enabled him to win the Mir acle Mile.
The main opposition to the Scotsman should come from last, week’s heat win-
!ner. Able Ay. which will be | receiving 10m from the Scotsman. Able Ay’s win in last week's heat was a top effort after he galloped away from the start. The Inter-Dominion campaigner Michael Frost is another which must win tonight to be assured of a place in the final. From the 10m mark Michael Frost faces an uphill battle to beat Maori’s Wonder, and the last-start heat winner, Remember Joy. Maori's Wonder turned in a promising run when third to Lehigh Lad and Koala King.
