I The surplus from the Australian rugby team’s tour of New Zealand last year amounted to $217,000.
Presenting the report the chairman, Mr Ces Blazey. said that the All Black tour to the British Isles, the New Zealand Juniors to Queensland and the internal tour by New Zealand colts involved the union in substantial costs. “Over all the fixtures and tours resulted in a surplus of about $104,000,” Mr Blazey said.
This compared with a surplus of $809,000 in 1977, which included the surplus from the tour by the British Lions.
