Support for referees
The rugby union will back. New Zealand referees in] their efforts to gain inter-, national matches. The president of the New Zealand Rugby Referees’ Association Mr Bill Falvey, told the annual meeting yesterday that New Zealand referees were disturbed at i the move toward neutral referees for international matches. Mr Falvey said that outside referees would control !
, this year's tests between 'the All Blacks and France. ]and referees were concerned |at the effect a lack of international matches would have on effects to recruit referees. The union’s chairman, Mr Ces Blazey, agreed that if the present situation continued it would create a serious problem for New Zealand referees. “We will certainly see that the concern expressed by the referees is taken care of,” Mr Blazey said.
