PA Wellington The New Zealand distributors of an imported L.P.G. regulator are anxious to recall 39 which were sold mainlv in the North Island!
in the iast month because they could leak and become; a potential fire hazard. The regulators, whichl would most likely be used: by caravaners or campers,' are green and are clearly! marked “Sungas" and “Type TJ260.” They are made by
i the Ting-Jer Industrial Com- \ pany, Ltd, of Taiwan. A spokesman for the distributors, New Zealand, I Industrial Gases, Ltd. said 1 ■ that in some cases the regulators could be dangerous! because there were some; cylinder valves in New Zea-; land with which the regu-l lator would not make a gas-; tight joint when connected. ! The company had recalled all TJ26O regulators it had; sold but 39 remained un- : traced. i In the South Island, two I had been sold in Nelson and ■ two in Invercargill. The company appealed to i ! anyone who had bought an! L.P.G. regulator from New ; Zealand Industrial Gases or i one of its stockists since March 15 to check it to ’ ensure it was not a Sungas ; TJ26O. Any such model re- ■ turned would be replaced by : the company. J
