N.Z. MARKET FALLS SHARPLY
Share prices slumped in active trading on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday, mainly in reaction to the news that the Government was offering a top rate of 13 per cent interest in its latest cash loan. This, combined with a leading finance house offering a top rate of 14 per cent for secured debenture stock, sent the N.Z.U.C. index down 9.36 pointe, one of its sharpest drops in years.
