Thieves 'examples'
PA Auckland ' Two Wellington youths ] were being "made examples” of for trying to steal petrol, said Mr J. R. Callander, S.M., in the Magistrate’s 1 Court at Auckland. Craig Stuart Cumming, aged 17, a shop assistant, and Michael Robert Burns, aged 18, a storeman, both i admitted a charge of attempted theft. They were each fined 5125, with $lO. court costs. i' Sergeant W. A. F. Brown said that about 12.30 a.m., on Tuesday. Cumming wasl found tamnering with a carj in Wakefie’d Street. He ranback to the car carrying rubber tubing. The petrol cap from the complainants, car was found on the rear seat of the defendants carj with several pe'ro' tanks, m-i eluding a large boat tank.
