Beer flows again
PA Wellington Beer flowed yesterday in Dunedin. Christchurch, the West Coast, Palmerston North, Hastings and Mangatainoka. But in Wellington and Auckland, brewery workers disliked beirtg suspended from their jobs
when work ran out during the boiler attendants’ strike. They met yesterday morning, decided to register their protest, and postponed a return to work until this morning. In Hamilton, breweryworkers appeared unlikely to return to work before today.
The boiler attendants who started the brewery stoppage are all back at work, except in Auckland. Apart from Auckland and Wellington, wine and soft drink makers began production yesterday after their workers returned to their jobs.
