THE POSITION Based in Ashburton, the successful applicant will be required to prepare and execute a programme of crop procurement and servicing with a minimum of supervision. A seasonal programme would involve the contracting of crop, extension and promotional activity, performance of a defined research and development programme and the supervision of seed handling procedures necessary for seed movement to storage. A major aspect of the position will be to service the oilseed rape crop throughout Canterbury, Otago and Southland. The involves contact with farmers, industry, Government Departments and other Agricultural agencies. Experience within the commercial agricultural sector would be a distinct advantage as this position requires the successful applicant to effectively operate an intensive programme.
