Relief aid campaign
PA Wellington Pacific Island aid organisations plan a big campaign to raise §250,000 in Nev Zealand to help victims of' iyclone Meli, which swept through Fiji last week. Mr N. Nawalowalo. a spokesman for the relief committee, said that planning for the appeal was well advanced with Corso offices and National Bank branches isettled as the collection' ; points Corso would provide ad-* ministrative support, and in-: structions to local repre-i (sentatives of the relief com-; mirtee had been made. At the; end of the campaign, which . was expected to last about a (month, the money raised (would be sent to the Fiji i Prime Minister’s Relief (Committee. along with recommendations about its i use. Two representatives of thei relief committee would visit; ;Fiji soon to assess how aid could best be used.
