Lionheart launched
NZPA London “Lionheart,” the British 12-metre challenger for the 1980 America’s Cup, was launched quietly in the South of England this weekend. The aluminium alloy yacht will be Britain’s first challenger since 1964 for the
world’s most prestigious yachting trophy. . Built for the “British Industry 1500’’ syndicate, Lionheart will undergo several months of trials before competing in the inaugural world 12-metre championships to be sailed off Brighton in September.
