By LES BLOXHAM Air New Zealand is still endeavouring to persuade the Auckland Airport Authority to all >w the DCIO now running a daily domestic service between Christchurch and Auckland to use the new international terminal at Mangere. The aircraft now arrives at and departs from the old domestic building which is about a kilometre from the overseas terminal. The DClOs were introduced to supplement the direct Boeing services and were also intended to provide a more convenient link with international flights. The airline withdrew its last month. Because those ting international departure to the North Pacific, Flight TESO6, on Sundays, last months. Because those flights carried solely international passengers they were permitted to direct to .Mangere’s new terminal. Air New Zealand had hoped that the authori'.' would agree to permit the domestic DCIO services also to use the terminal for the convenience of international passengers. However, the request was rejected because of difficulties in segregating domestic and international passengers in the departure areas. The DC I (I. which leaves Auckland in the morning and returns in time to connect with most international evening departures, was the onty domestic service running during the pilots’ strike.
