There seems no doubt about his ability to mastet the distance or for that matter to handle the going that Tauherenikau will provide. By the time Chinkara won the Martinborough, the track was deep an l even with the expected Improvement in the weather the track should still prove to be testing enough. Chinkara will come up against some real class in Toni’s Mate, tut like Chinkara the Foxton stayer is not long back in a current campaign. lie ran on a shade lor eighth in that 1200 m s.nint at Waiptikurau and the time before made ground for sixth in the Pakistan Stakes at Awapuni. On first-day evidence, there is plenty of form about to trouble tlte two at the top of the handicap The threats are Copper Kane, Flavius and Brazen Princess.
