HI 480 OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSE WE will shortly have a vacancy for an occupational health nurse to take sole charge of our modern, well equipped clinic on a full time basis. The position will report to the environmental health and safety manager, and the principal duties involved are: 1 Conducting the companys industrial health programme on a day to day basis. 2 Providing or arranging the treatment of all injuries or illness during working hours and giving a general medical advice service to employees. 3 Liaison with the companys medical consultant on matters relevant to the health and safety programme e.g. pre-employment medicals, annual health checks. 4 Maintaining appropriate records andccompiling regular reports to management e.g. accident statistics, industrial hygiene reports, accident compensation claims. The person we are seeking must be a state registered nurse, with a number of years practical experience behind them. Preference will be given to those having industrial nursing or industrial health experience, with some practical involvement as a trainer. Ivon Watkins-Dow has one of the finest industrial safety records in New Zealand. Safety is an important and accepted part of the companys policy, although our industrial health programme is still in its infancy.
