Man faces five counts of rape
PA Auckland An Otahuhu service station attendant appeared in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland yesterday on five charges of rape. Brian Francis Thomas Mana Jordan, aged 21, was also charged with indecent assault and with breaking and entering a One Tree Hill home. All charges were laid mdictably. Mr D. I. N. Maclean, S.M., remanded him in custody to April 18 to appear in the Magistrate’s Court at Otahuhu. Jordan had been questioned by the police in February, when he came under scrutiny after being pursued by Manafter being pursued by Manhad formed a vigilante group. He was spotted by the vigilante patrol and chased through several properties. The police later questioned him but did not detain him in connection with rapes and sex attacks in the Mangere area.
Scientific evidence led the police back to him in their investigation of a burglary in One Tree Hill last September. He was questioned for several hours on Tuesday by Auckland and Otahuhu detectives before being charged.
