He was rei’mahded in custody for a : I probation officer’s report -{and sentence tv> April 24 by i Mr K. H. J. Headifen, S.M. ■ Sergeant P. D. Grooby i said that on the afternoon of April 5, - Traffic Officer ; Thompson saw the defendant • riding his motor-cycle
around Wakefield Quay at an estimated speed of 80 - k/h. He followed him to his i home at. 102 Russell Street - which the defendant entered. i The traffic officer parked ■ his motor-cycle outside and ! entered the properly and while speaking to Mac Ewan , the defendant suddenly hit i him on the arm with a 1 crutch, then hit him in the - groin and the mouth with - the crutch. As a result the » officer lost two teeth, two tjteeth were loosened, and his /{mouth was lacerated, said (Sergeant Grooby. r i Charges against Mac Ewan fjof exceeding the speed limit. r|of not wearing a helmet and tlof failing to stop were ad•ijourned to April 24.
