THE PAPUA NEW GUINEA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER THE DEPARTMENT of Mathematics is a service department teaching mathematics to students of engineering, surveying, applied science, architecture and business studies. Current research interests are in the areas Of astrophysics, general relativity, mathematical programming, theoretical chemistry, stockastic processes and mathematics education. Located in the department is a research and development unit, the Mathematics Education Centre, which has been set up to study the problems associated with the teaching and learning of mathematics in Papua New Guinea. QUALIFICATIONS: First degree in mathematics or engineering with extensive teaching experience at post secondary level and demonstrable concern for the problems associated with the teaching,of mathematics to non-specialists. Post graduate qualifcations in education with a higher degree preferred. SALARY: Senior Lecturer — K 15.150.00 per annum.
