Rewarding week-end
Seven wins in two days made for a memorable weekend for the Wingatui jockey, Allie Robinson, last weekend.
He rode five winners at Beaumont on Saturday and came north for the North Canterbury meeting on Monday to ride two more, including The Clippie in the
Inglewood Stakes, the most valuable race on the Rangiora programme. Robinson rode his first winner, Acron, on his home course in 1964. He was more than half way towards his thousand by last autumn: his success on The Fantasy in the Warstep Stakes at Riccarton a year ago was his 503rd.
