Second channel
Sir,. — I see by “The Press” that we may be about to be levied $lO to help pull Mr Cross out of the mire with his two-channel raw deal. According to Mr Templeton we need S2SM to put TV2 nationwide. Can Mr Templeton tell us how many million dollars he has collected from centres which still have only one channel over the last five years, and does he not think it time he gave the underprivileged a fair go with a reduction in fees for one-channel centres. -— Yours, etc., A. HAWLEY. Westport. April 5, 1979. Sir, — I do not know anyone who does not think that two channels are a mad waste of money, and yet we may be asked to pay $lO to keep them going. Thank goodness a viewers’ association with Mr C. A. K. Lowe as president will help us. I only hope they will keep a watch on radio as well. — Yours, etc., D. HENNESSY. April 6, 1979.
