Treble on numbers

Westport reporter “Very lucky,” said Mrs Imeida McArthur, of Ngakawau, of her husband’s $14,000 treble win at the week-end. ■ Mr Jim McArthur, a mine deputy, successfully picked the winning combination of Connamara, Apostle and Shelter’s Gold to win $14,913 on the Bay of Plenty T.A.B. treble on Saturday. Mrs McArthur said her

husband rarely went to the T.A.B. “He just picked out the numbers and didn’t know what they were until he got home and looked in the paper,” she said. The family had no immediate plans to spend the winnings. IVIr McArthur's win was the second big treble to go to the area this year. Earlier, Mr Max Walsh, of Granity, won a treble worth $46,000.
