Go You Halve*, one of th* country’s best racing greyhounds, will start in tlie New Zealand Cup over 840 m at Queen Elizabeth II Park on Thursday evening. The $l5OO race was to have been held on March 22, but the weather prevented the meeting from taking place and the totalisator meeting will be held this Thursday. invitations were extended to the original qualifiers for the race and most have accepted again. However, two Auckland dogs, Sportoka and Chan Hansen, nave withdrawn. I The connections of Go You [Halves accepted an invitation ’after the Weston PlayBemadina dog had won the Duke of Edinburgh Silver Collar distance event at Auckland last Friday. Another North islander in tha Christchurch race. Fawn Sleek, was second. The Auckland dog has already won die rich Wellington Cup and the New Zaaland St Leger thia year and is entitled to be rated high among die leading chasers in New Zealand. The return of the Sydney dog, Fluent Top, will ensure the race has a wide following. Another feature of tha meeting will be the Canter* bury Owners’. Breeders’ and Trainer*' race worth $5OO taf 'maiden*.
