Retired jockeys’ race
PA Wellington As part of their centenary celebrations tlie Fell ding Jockey Club is staging an event for retired jockeys on Saturday. Starting at 2.15 p.m. the Masters Stake will be run over 1809 m from a flag start and is for invited retired jockeys. The field is:—Cadge (4) M. Andrews: Tono Bungay (21 K. Gryils; Royonah (3) J. Harris; Dinola (fl> G. Hughes; Two Score (5) L. McCutcheon; Amin (9) R. Marsh; Oranmore 11) J. O’Neill; Copper Green (7) F. Robinson; Trial Bid (8) K. Thomson. Emergencies: Inches, Llnstosk, Noir Doir. After the ninth raoa on Saturday, the Olympic champion John Walker will race 800 m against the New Zealand junior 800 m champion Peter Mcßedmond, of Palmerston North. On Easter Monday Walker will he in action again—against a horse. A handicap event, Walker will tackle Kemar, trained by John Midway and to be ridden by Grenville Hughes.
