Governor Brown to marry rock star?
NZPA New York The Governor of California (Mr Jerry Brown) is scheduled to leave next Thursday, the eve of his forty-first birthday, for a today African safari with the rock singer Linda Ronstadt, with whom he has been linked romantically. Sources close to the Governor would not say whether he and Miss Ronstadt planned to be married during the holiday. Mr Brown is considered a contender for the Democratic presidential; nomination-in 1980.
Two-term governor since 1975 of America’s most populous state, Mr Brown often has been seen in public with the attractive 32-year-old singer, and there has been frequent speculation that marriage might be in the of"New York Post” quoted unidentified friends of Mr Brown as saying he agonised over the political implications of a vacation with Miss Ronstadt. “Finally, he just said ‘to hell with it’,” one friend was quoted as saying.
