NZPA Sydney. New Zealand trounced Australia, 13-5. in the first test of the Dunhill international polo series at the Sydney Show Ground yes terday. The test is one of four being played between the two countries. The second test is scheduled for the Show Grounds on Thursday evening, the remaining two [matches at Warwick Farm. The New Zeaoland team of David Kirkpatrick .John Walker and Jim Watson completely dominated the match from the first chukka. The New Zealandeis had far more control and direction with their shots—both in mid-field and shooting tor goal. Their team work gave the Aus-
tralians a lesson m tactics. The New Zealand ponies appeared far more disciplined and the speed and fitness of the ponies left the Australian floundering. Australia was never in the match after trailing, 9-2. at the three-quarter time bell, and New Zealand could have won by more. The Lest did nothing to help Australia’s international prestige following heavy defeats from Argentina and the United States in recent internationals New Zealand, after leading 5-2 at half-time, increased its lead to a 9-2 advantage by threequarter tim? and with only minutes to go led 13-3. Two J ate goals for Australia. b\ Jim MacGinley saved the Au«tralisns from further humiliation.
