Although she has just bought a new Mini, Mrs Janet Owers does not have to worry about transport if carless days are introduced. When she bought the car from the Worcester Street branch of the New Zealand Motor Corporation, she found the firm had introduced an unusual gimmick to beat the fuel crisis. Each week a draw is being held from the names of all the persons who have bought a new car. Mrs Owers was the latest winner and was given her new bicycle by the new car sales manager, Mr Tony Bankier, yesterday. The firm will continue with the promotion for a month.
