B Financial control and management of the Council’s affairs. C Continued development of the existing laboratory accreditation system. D Vigorous promotions of all the aims and projects of the Council in its effort to upgrade laboratories and increased recognition of New Zealand Laboratories both at home and abroad. This involves considerable public speaking, writing articles, organising seminars and other educational activities. The work entails considerable travel both within New Zealand and overseas. QUALIFICATIONS: A University degree in Science or Engineering Is absolutely’ essential. In addition the Director is required to have: A Some laboratory experience B Broad knowledge of New Zealand, science and technology, C Exceptional ability to communicate and negotiate with Government and Industry' Leaders and Laboratory Personnel of all levels. D Sound administrative judgment and ability to lead a team of dedicated professional officers.
