' Education Board Office, CKRISTCHUP.CH. : April, 1979. 1132 CEB CANTERBURY EDUCATION BOARD ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES THE Board in pursuance of the power conferred by the Education Act, 1964, and its Amendments, hereby directs that a public meeting of householders be held in each! school district in the Canter-; bury Education District, with the exception of Area, Special, District High and Intermediate schools on Monday, April 23, 1979, at 7.30 p.m. for the election of a school! committee for each district,! such committee to hold office for two years. A public meeting of householders to elect committees for district high schools will be held at each of these schools on Tuesday, May 1, 1979. at 7.30 p.m. Where the grading roll which determined the grade of any school for 1979 did not exceed one hundred children, the number of members of the school committee to be elected at that meeting shall be five; where that roll number was over one hundred and not over two hundred the number of members to be elected as aforesaid shall be seven; and where the roll number is over two hundred, the number of members to be elected as aforesaid shall be nine. At every such meeting the Chairman of the meeting shall call on householders present at the meeting to nominate householders for election to serve on the committee for the two years next ensuing. For the purpose of this election the district of the Ashburton Special School Group is the Ashburton Borough as defined by the Ashburton Borough Council’s boundaries. Householders residing within this area together with parents of pupils attending the school, are eligible to attend nominate and vote.
