Indoor-hockey upset
Carlton, the women’s champion for the last four years, was beaten by Woolston-Rawhiti in division one of the Canterbury indoor hockey competition at Canterbury Court.
Woolston won a close and exciting game, 5-4. The intense rivalry that developed between the two teams last year in both 1 indoor and outdoor competitions seems likely to continue this [year.
In the men’s first division, Selwyn-Hillmorton, a finalist last year, lost to Harewood, 3-4. and in another minor surprise Pegasus beat Redcliffs, 4-3. Results:—
