Odlin changes at the top
PA Wellington Mr Huia Hill (chairman) and Mr L. A. Sisam (deputy chairman) having reached the retiring age prescribed in the articles, retire from the board of Odlins, Ltd, on March 31.
At a meeting of the board Mr L. M. Papps, was unanimously elected chairman. Mr Hill has served Odlins for 50 years. He joined the company in 1930, and was appointed a director in 1950. In 1955 he became managing director, retiring from that office in 1967. Two years later he was appointed chairman. Mr Sisam served on the boards of several major companies and was chairman of Dalgety N.Z.. Ltd. He joined the Odlins board in 1960, and was elected deputy chairman in 1963.
Mr Papps is a director of many companies, including Dalgety N.Z., and N.Z. Motor ’ Corporation, Ltd, of which he is chairman, and UE.B. Industries. Ltd. of which he is deputy chairman. Mr Papps joined the Odlins board in 1969.
