J. Burns profit $708,000
John Bums and Co, Ltd, reports that unaudited net group profit, including equity profits for the six months to December 31, was $158,000 ($169,800), and extraordinary profits were $549,900, making a total of $708,000. No tax has been necessary in either year. were increased 4 per cent to $15.6M. As advised to shareholders in the re-organisa-tion proposals (above) the directors are recommending a special tax-free dividend of 50c a share in lieu of the usual interim and final dividends for the year to June 30. Shares will be ex this distribution on June 19.
