MARKET CLOSES ON FIRM NOTE
Share prices were firmer on an active Ne w Zealand sharemarket yesterday. A. S. Paterson gained 15c to 255 c on the announcement of a bon us issue, and Vacation Hotels rose oc to 75c on an optimistic annual report. John Burns was steady a t 190 c after spurning the take-over bid by a subsidiary of Brierley Investments. Ihe latter ease d 2c to 230 c.
