Britain’s Vice-Chief of the Defence Staff (Air Marshal Sir John Barraclough) will visit New Zealand at the end of the month. He is due to arrive in Christchurch on January 28 for a tour of the R.N.Z.A.F. base at Wigram before leaving for Queenstown on a private visit. Air Marshal. Barraclough will arrive at Wigram that morning, make a tour of the base, and have lunch before going on to Queenstown. He will arrive at Wellington Airport on January 26, in a Royal Air Force Britannia of Air Support Command. After discussions with the Chief of the Defence Staff, the Secretary of Defence, and Chiefs of Staff at the Ministry of Defence, he will visit Ohakea before coming to Wigram. Air Marshal Barraclough was the first serving British officer to attend the advanced management programme session at the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration. His recent appointments have included Air Officer-in-charge Administration of Bomber Command, followed by the post of Air Officer Administration, Strike Command, when the latter was formed in April, 1968, with the amalgamation of Bomber and Strike commands.
