Anne Gable’s final trial
“The Press” Special Service WANGANUI. Anne Gable, one of-the early favourites for the Wellington Cup, will have her final trial at Hawera today and then go $o Trentham, her owner-breeder, Mr P. J.- B. Smith, of ■ Upper Aramoho. said yesterday. She galloped on Tuesday and was not very impressive according to her trainer, W. McEwan, but Mr Smith said the mare ;wa* sometimes unimpressive in trainIng. Anne Gable has made good progress and has apparently recovered from the gash received from a flying plate in the Auckland Cup. Since then Anne Gable has raced once for fourth at Woodville last week. “We were quite pleased with that effort, for she was short of a race after missing a little work after the Auckland Cup,” Mr Smith said.
