Dalzell, a competitor in the under 17 girls’ singles at the national age championships at Wilding Park, was given an unusual dispensation yesterday. Her match was delayed a little because her services were essential on the Hurunui farm of her father, Mr N. Dalzell, the former All Black.
She was required to help her father train the trotter, Jack Margon, in fast work for a meeting.
